Joe Porterfield

Thanks so much for taking a minute to learn more about me.

My name is Joe Porterfield. My wife, Joan, and I moved to Charlottesville in 1979 following graduation from the State University of New York. Our dream was to settle down in Charlottesville and raise a family. During our 38 years in Charlottesville, we have raised three wonderful children and also were blessed with two grandchildren. I enjoyed coaching youth soccer for over 25 years as it was one of my passions and joys in life!

I started a career with Sperry Marine in 1980 and held various positions in the company including Marketing/Product Development of marine navigation systems. In 1999 it was time to begin my career as a sole proprietor in the field of carpentry design and construction. I like to believe my experiences in carpentry and construction provide my clients with unique advantage when utilizing my experience and expertise to assist them with real estate. A natural transition from carpentry and construction for me was to receive my real estate license in 2007.

When I am not busy helping my clients with their real estate needs, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking in the Blue Ridge, and helping clients with any carpentry work they may need a hand with.
