Hi! I’m Amy Yates (Amy III)

Greetings! I recently joined the Avenue Family and I can’t express enough how delighted I am to be part of this amazing group of people.

I am a Charlottesville native and am one of those who will ask, “Do you remember when Kroger’s on 29 was a drive-in, and when the Downtown Mall was not a pedestrian mall?” I lived in Atlanta, and moved to New Orleans to quickly return to Charlottesville because it is where my roots are at, also where I wanted to raise my son and be close to my dad.

I have had the great privilege of working with several locally owned businesses, which by far is my preference. It has given me the opportunity to meet and work with a varied group of people, including some of our local celebrities.

I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Avenue team as their office and marketing administrator. I love that I get to tap into my creative side and bring to the table my years of administrative experience. I also appreciate learning and expanding my knowledge in a field that is new to me.

Outside of work I try to stay connected to our incredible community by volunteering. I served on the MAACA Board back in the 90’s representing the AIDS Services Group, I have been a Big Sister, helped with the local food pantries, and did field work with the HOWS Project. I am currently training to assist with outreach & prevention of domestic violence. I fully support empowerment and hope I can be a small part of that.
